Not Exactly What Was Planned

Sometimes when volunteers come, things do not go exactly as planned or anticipated. This was true for Judy this spring. She came to teach English as a second language in the local schools. But God had other plans for her. She shares,

“As I prepared for the 10 days in Ayorou, one specific prayer of mine was that I would have the opportunity and boldness to share about Jesus to some of the Songhai. Because I speak only English, I did not see how this would be possible, but we serve an amazing God!
As I walked the town praying, at first I attempted to greet the people in their language. They would then begin talking to me in their language, and I had no idea what they were saying, so I just gave up and started saying, “Good morning.” Can you believe I found English speakers?!”

Definitely not coincidence, but of the Lord’s timing and appointing, some of the men she talked to were some of the same with whom the local missionary had already formed relationships. She was allowed to share scriptures, her testimony, and pray with these men.

“I went to Ayorou thinking my main mission was to teach English in the local school, which I did, but before I left Niger I knew that God’s main mission for me there was prayer walking, which led to these witnessing experiences. God truly blessed me.”
